What you need to know about riding the CTA right now
For many Chicagoans, it’s been months since they last tapped their Ventra card to board a CTA train or bus, as a significant portion of city residents opted to stay home and forgo their daily commute. Now that Chicago is officially in Phase 3 of its reopening plan, there’s likely to be more people on buses and trains as many businesses reopen in some capacity and residents begin venturing to places like restaurants and retail stores. But before you leave the house, take a look at everything you need to know about riding the CTA right now—including safety measures, capacity restrictions and payment options.

These Chicago restaurants have reopened for outdoor dining
For the first time since they were ordered to close back in March, Chicago restaurants and bars were able to reopen outdoor seating last week. We've compiled a rolling list of Chicago spots that are currently open for business. It’s by no means exhaustive, but we'll be adding to it as we confirm reopening details. If you do choose to dine out, be sure to call ahead or check the restaurant’s website or social accounts—you might need a reservation or they might be taking the day off to regroup.

Take a look at a few highlights below, and check out the full guide for more.
Wicker Park:
Ina Mae
Nosh on po’ boys and beignets while sipping frozen cocktails on this sunny sidewalk patio—there’s some indoor seating along the open windows, too.
Bridgeport:
Antique Taco
Pull up to the takeout window, snag some tacos and margs, and then find a seat on the patio or take your grub to go. Rinse and repeat all summer.
Pilsen: La Luna
This cheerful sidewalk patio is back in action, and the menu’s rife with tortas, flautas and tacos—plus a long list of cocktails made for sipping in the sun.
West Loop: Recess
With an ample 14,000 square feet of space, this sprawling outdoor terrace offers elevated pub fare and signature tableside “water cooler” cocktails.
