10 coping mechanisms Angelenos have relied on during lockdown
Sourdough starters, quarantine beards, whatever-you-have-left-in-the-cabinet cocktails: We’ve all dealt with our extended time at home in different ways. We wanted to see what Angelenos have reliably leaned on during lockdown, so we decided to reach out to some of the most unfiltered people we know: our favorite L.A. comedians.

The 26 best spots for tacos in L.A.
If we were to devise a list of the things we love most about L.A., tacos would occupy approximately half of the top 10. So we think there’s no better time to support the taqueros that provide us with sweet, sweet sustenance no matter where we are or what time it is. You can find all of the best spots in our best tacos story, but we’ve picked out a couple of our favorites below. And thankfully all of these spots are offering takeout, delivery or outdoor dine-in.
Guerrilla Tacos
Guerrilla’s farm-to-truck goods have settled in at a permanent home in the Arts District, where you’ll find tacos, quesadillas and daily specials that combine Mexican traditions with California cuisine (and breakfast burritos around the corner at Guerrilla Cafecito).
Sonoratown
As the Downtown spot’s name suggests, this style of taco hails from Sonora, which means delicate, pliant flour tortillas. Smaller tacos are stuffed with mesquite-grilled meat while the larger caramelos throw pinto beans and melty jack cheese into the mix.
Guisados
This local taco empire specializes in flavorful, hours-long braised and stewed meats and vegetables. But even better right now: With seven locations across the city, you’re almost surely within their delivery radius.
Tire Shop Taqueria
A South L.A. institution, Tire Shop slings $2 Tijuana-style tacos absolutely dripping with avocado salsa. Tortillas here are made to order, then folded into little paper-wrapped cones that ooze the green salsa out of one end.
The 11 most beautiful Art Deco buildings in L.A.
Of all the architectural styles in L.A., none conjure up the sense of starry-eyed luxury like Art Deco. Step back nearly a century in time with this photo tour of some of the city’s most stunning structures. And though you can’t step inside most of these right now, you can still ogle them from the outside.

We don’t know who needs to hear this but...
Seriously, don’t throw a party right now (unless it’s a pizza party on your couch, which we just call “Monday”).
