You can still (safely) visit two botanical gardens
Need a little sunshine and fresh air? While the county encourages Angelenos to still go for walks around their neighborhoods, not all of us live in an area well suited for a physical-distancing–friendly stroll. Thankfully, two of L.A.’s most beautiful gardens, the L.A. County Arboretum and South Coast Botanic Garden, are still accepting visitors.
Here’s what you need to know: Both require reservations for a specific time slot in advance (so you don’t have to worry about the gardens getting overcrowded), and you’ll also need a cloth face covering to enter. Note that visitors are still asked to keep their distance from each other, and benches and picnic areas are closed.

Need a face mask? These L.A. companies are adding some style to protection
Whethether required by law or just considered proper etiquette, we could be looking at needing to wear some sort of face covering for the near future when we’re out and about. So why not upgrade from your Coachella-worn bandana to something that’s a bit more comfortable and maybe even slightly stylish? We’ve assembled a list of some of the garment manufacturers and boutiques—all of them based in Los Angeles—that are now shipping masks. In all cases, these are non-medical cloth masks (and thankfully for your wallet, they’re reusable with a simple wash).
