First look at The Met's new Roof Garden commission
It’s hard to imagine a New York without the Metropolitan Museum of Art. And starting this Saturday, we’ll no longer have to! After closing its doors in March, the Met finally plans to welcome back visitors this Saturday . On top of its permanent collection, a number of high-wattage exhibitions will be opening for the first time along with the museum, including this summer’s annual Roof Garden commission. We got a first look at the timely installation on the Central Park rooftop, Héctor Zamora’s "Lattice Detour".

Eat
Is your at-home turkey sandwich starting to make you feel empty inside? Head to French luncheonette La Cantine in Bushwick—a hidden gem in the NYC lunch game. Try the cauliflower cutlet sandwich with homemade mayo, the jambon buerre sandwich on a baguette, or, if you can snag a slice before they sell out, their Brioche bread pudding.
Drink
It’s almost the weekend right? Order a bottle of natural wine from one of the top wine shops in NYC, Stranger Wines in Williamsburg. Andrew Tarlow, the restaurateur behind the shop, helms popular joints, Diner and Achilles Heel. If you don’t know much about natural and organic wine, here’s your chance to learn something new.
Do
Support local businesses this weekend like Greenpoint gift-shop oasis, Feng Sway. Here, you can shop local for kooky vintage clothing, antique furniture, eclectic chachkies and exotic plants. It's a great way to keep your work-from-home setup enticing.

This is not a test: Shake Shack now has pizza burgers
But they only have them for today! The burger chain is offering a limited-time-only collaboration with one of the city’s best pizzerias for $10.49. The Mama’s Too Burger features fluffy homemade focaccia (dotted with Parmesan, mozzarella and rosemary) holding a double cheeseburger with stretchy stracciatella cheese, spicy nduja tomato sauce, bitter greens and crispy garlic. (So, you know, it’s not exactly a hard sell.) If you want to grab one for dinner tonight, you have to order ahead at the Madison Square Park location.

The best live theater to stream every single day this week
We’re back today with another comprehensive rundown of all of the theater you should be catching online this week while the city’s theaters remain closed. You can check out the full list here, but here are a few highlights:

Thursday, 7pm: The New Group: The Jacksonian
The New Group revisits its 2013 Off Broadway premiere of Beth Henley’s The Jacksonian in the latest installment of its Reunion Reading Series. Set in 1964 Mississippi, Beth Henley’s drama moves back and forth in time at the seedy hotel where a drug-addled dentist has taken up residence apart from his wife.

Saturday, 1:30pm: Mermaid Parade 2020: The Tail-a-Thon
The beloved annual Mermaid Parade is a no-go this year, but its organizers hope to make a virtual splash with a mock telethon that will include live and pre-recorded performances.

Sunday, 2pm: SummerStage Anywhere: Brooklyn Dance Festival
SummerStage continues its virtual offerings on Instagram Live with an afternoon of dance, curated by Tamia Santana and hosted by longtime Ailey étoile Dwana Smallwood.
